I’ve poked around looking at hostels in Paris enough now to realize that just because I type the words “hostels in Saint-Germain-des-Pres” into a search box doesn’t mean I’m going to come up with anything. And it did take more digging than normal to put together this list of hostels in the Saint Germain des Pres neighborhood in Paris, but if you’re looking for a hostel in this area then I’m glad to be of service.
The hostels I’ve listed below aren’t in Saint-Germain-des-Pres proper, as you’ll see on the map. Why? Well, there just aren’t any hostels in this area. There are lots of little boutique hotels, but even the budget options there are well beyond the price range of most hostel-goers. So the hostels listed below are just outside the Saint Germain des Pres area, but are a relatively short walk away.
Below, you’ll find a map of the Saint-Germain-des-Pres area of Paris with the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres marked at its heart. Also on the map are the hostels I’ve listed. You can find out more about each one by clicking on the icon on the map, or by reading the description underneath the map.
Saint-Germain-des-Pres Hostels in Paris
Hostels in Saint Germain des Pres in Paris
Young & Happy Hostel
80 rue Mouffetard – 75005 Paris
The Young & Happy Hostel is actually in the neighboring Latin Quarter, but it’s the closest hostel to the actual boundaries of the Saint Germain des Pres part of the city. And it happens to be in a pretty prime location itself on the famous Rue Mouffetard.
Breakfast is free at the hostel, but linens and towels aren’t included. You can rent them on-site. Internet access is also available for a fee. There’s no curfew at the hostel, but there is a midday lockout period.
50 Avenue des Gobelins – 75013 Paris
The Oops Hostel is right on the border of the Latin Quarter, so it’s a bit further from the center of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, but it’s still a reasonable walk. It’s about five minutes on foot from the hostel to the Rue Mouffetard in the Latin Quarter.
There are all kinds of freebies at this hostel, including breakfast, linens, WiFi, & internet access. Towels aren’t included, so bring your own or rent one at the hostel. There’s no curfew, but there is a midday lockout period.
1 rue Borromee – 75015 Paris
The Aloha Hostel is also not right in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres neighborhood – in fact, it’s sort of between Saint Germain des Pres and the Eiffel Tower, and some of the rooms even have a view of the famous tower. So it might be ideally located close to a lovely neighborhood and not far from the city’s most famous landmark.
Breakfast and WiFi are both offered at the hostel for free, but towels aren’t. There’s not only a midday lockout period for cleaning, but this hostel also has a 2am curfew, so keep that in mind if you’re planning lots of late nights.
