Did you know that Saint Sulpice church is larger than Notre Dame Cathedral?
Notre Dame measures 130 Meters by 48 Meters by 35 Meters.
Saint Sulpice measures 113 Meters by 58 Meters by 34 Meters.
The number of recent visitors to Saint Sulpice has greatly increased since it became a major location in the Da Vinci Code.
There are plenty of good reasons to visit Saint Sulpice, for example the free Sunday organ concerts following services. The Saint Sulpice organ is considered one of the best in Europe by visiting organists.
Unlike Notre Dame’s esplanade, which is normally teeming with tourists in the summer months, Place St. Sulpice has a cooling fountain. It is also the site for frequent art, regional products and antique shows.
You are a stone’s throw away from a plethora of restaurants and cafes that eventually bring you back to Boulevard St. Germain and St. Germain-des-Pres. You have found the heartbeat of the Left Bank, if not the Holy Grail.
