Paris Taxis- a Political Issue?

Imagine how surprised I was to read in yesterday’s Figaro (27 Oct, Page 8) that the ‘dearth of taxis’ is often an issue taken up by the UMP and UDF elected reps. The day before yesterday, Paris’s mayor, Bertrand Delanoe talked about augmenting the number of available taxis at rush hour. I can’t help wondering if some of those elected officials had tried waiting for a cab at a taxi stand. Not having read my last blog entry, they probably weren’t prepared with their two suitcases in hand.
