Strike Season Starts This Week (nov. 21st)

According to Le Figaro, the SNCF will be striking on Tuesday, followed by an RATP (that’s the Metro) strike on Wednesday. Expect plenty of ‘perturbations’ if you’re unlucky enough to have to take a train on Tuesday. Put on your walking shoes to see Paris rather than taking the Metro on Wednesday.
Why are they strikingf?
They are protesting ‘rampant privatisation’ of certain railroad secteurs which would ultimately compromise the quality of customer service.
French rail service is perhaps currently the best in the world. Watching the demise of good rail service in other countries (like England, for example) I hope SNCF finds the solutions to maintain its deservedly good reputation.
