Soccer Euphoria

Saturday Night! Even in the small towns of France fans came out in a big way to celebrate France’s victory over Brasil in the quarter finals. In Lisieux in Normandy, within minutes after the end of the match people rushed to the center of town, drove their cars, with horns beeping and flags flying. After talking to our friend Bernd in Frankfort, soccer mania is equally strong throughout Germany.
“Do you think Germany will win?” I asked him.
“The best team will win.” he replied without hesitation. “France played very well last night.”
So, now we must wait and see.
