You can’t spell French very well? So what. Catherine the Great made spelling errors also, and according to the books I’m currently reading about her era (18th Century Europe), it didn’t really matter in those days.
Even in France? Yes, apparently, even in France. Being sticklers for proper spelling, according to these sources, didn’t really come about until the 19th century.
