Sarkozy Declares War Against Alzheimers

Le Figaro reports that Sarkozy is imposing a health insurance ‘franchise’ or deductible that patients will be obliged to pay before their national healthcare insurance kicks in. It’s pretty steep indeed.
“Not to exceed 50 Euros per year,” he assured.

Meanwhile a 50 centimes tax will be attached to prescription purchases. With the collected money, the French government is forming a specific department to address the problems of aging, i.e. Alzheimers in particular as well as cancer.
