If you were going to choose one place to be in Paris on New Years Eve, might it be aboard a boat on the Seine?
Taking a night cruise on the Seine any night of the year is a treat, but bringing in the New Year on a Seine River cruise has to be an exceptional night to remember. Surprisingly, the cost isn’t prohibitive when you compare it to the cost of New Years Eve dinners in many major US cities.
Before dinner cocktail.
Coquille St. Jacques brochettes.
Duck fois gras
Salad and cheese
Choice of red or white wines.
One bottle of champagne per couple.
The party begins when guests start to board at 9 pm.
A violinist, pianist, singer and guitarist provide musical ambiance. The boat cruises from 9 30 pm until 12:30 am but guests can remain onboard until 3 am.
With the weak US Dollar, 350 Euros sounds a little too steep? An additional New Years Eve cruise for 250 Euros will also be boarding at 8:30 pm and disembarking at 9 pm. (This boat returns to the quay at 11:30 pm, but guests can stay onboard until 12:30 am).

For one evening you can feel like a tycoon with the attentions of uniformed crew and the type of setting you might imagine in a movie set – teak decks, mahogany detailing.
Ranging in length from 82 to 280 feet, the six elegant yachts of this fleet can accommodate from 2 to 800 people.
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that normally I’d opt for cocktails rather than a full meal cruise (I’ve always felt that cruising and fooding don’t necessarily go hand in hand), but after looking at Bateaux Mouches’ New Years Eve Menu and reading the bio of Yachts de Paris chef, Jean-Pierre Vigato, I’m reconsidering – at least for one very special night!
This looks like the New Year’s Eve dinner cruise to remember for a lifetime. (I haven’t the courage yet to call up on the price for this one!)
