While cleaning out the storage space, I fell upon this Student Diary, Paris 1976, so from time to time I’ll post entries for those who are interested in what it was like being a student in Paris in the 70s.
(these Diary posts will continue depending upon readers interest level - so please leave a comment if you’d like to read more)

Impressions of Paris?
It is a city of love. I had no conception of the word but Paris is already teaching me about love.
The first thing I discovered is that I have brought too many clothes. Our dormitory room reminds me of the painting of the nun looking out her open window. (Vermeer?) My room has a well-polished wooden floor, but the walls are old and barren. We have fairly large windows that open onto the streets. There is a cabinet for clothes and a basin and a bidet. The toilet and shower are down the hall.
I like to look out on the streets. There’s always traffic and it’s raining quite often.
The most important thing is communication. I may have to quit writing in English in order to think more in French, but in order to set these first impressions straight, I’ll use some English.
The French people we have met so far have been very kind. I wonder how so many Americans get the idea that they don’t listen. I pray to God for a French boyfriend.”

Yes, Paris in the 1970’s…perhaps you should tease us with some entries, and then hold out for the movie rights! Did you see the recent Bertolucci film about youth in Paris in 1968?
