If the mayor of Paris decides to visit a U.S. city, before going to New York, Boston, Washington - or even San Francisco, I’d suggest he’d check out Portland, Oregon. Why? Public transportation. In the past, I’ve praised the Paris Metro system which runs exceptionally well. But, where else in the world can you find a two dollar ride from a city center to the airport like you can on Portland, Oregon’s Max Red Line? Between free or almost free public transportation and hybrid cars, Portland is the place to plan the future Paris.
