Paris, as Seen From the Other Side of the Pond

“Well, thank goodness your back safe and sound!” We are being greeted upon our return from Paris as if we had been in a war zone. There is no convincing those that have been bombarded by the media sensation-makers that Paris is NOT burning.

Here is a quote from a friend who has grown up in Paris’s southern suburbs, first Malakoff, and in recent years, Issy-les Moulineaux:
Meet Nicolas:
‘I’m afraid to say that I only see the riots on TV, from our wealthy suburbs, because very few towns have to suffer from this. In poor areas where I would have no reason to go, and even less at night, it was very var from civil war as depicted in foreign news. At least I had a good laugh watching headlines like: French intifada or Bagdhad in Paris.”
