Napleon III and Europe

Crimea War buffs? There’s an exhibit at Les Invalides Military Museum with actual photographs of the battlefields in the Crimea as well as photos of Sebastopol port. Pont d’Iena - you’ve probably walked around the Pont d’Iena if you’ve big looking for a Bateau Mouche, but Iena represents much much than a Metro stop. In the strange turns of history, the English and French fought together WITH the Turks against Russia. They call this the forgotten war for good reason. It’s a war in which the French fought admirably - and sadly, the world forgets most of what’s been done well - likewise, Napoleon III ( and you could continue to say that Napoleon 1) are usually forgotten for their positive contributions) and more often remembered for their Waterloos.
