Lalique at the Luxembourg Museum

Two shows much-talked in Paris this spring have been the Armenia exhibit at the Louvre which is closing up this weekend and the Lalique exhibit at the Luxembourg Garden Museum. If you’re a fan of ‘art nouveau’ objects, you won’t want to miss this show which includes jewelry, glass designs and many more objects by the artist and jewelry designer Lalique. The art nouveau style is noted for its mimicking of nature and assymetrical design.

Another example of ‘art nouveau’ in Paris would be the curving Metro stops with yellowish lights that curve inward like exotic flower buds. The Lalique exhibit continues through to the end of July. Check out www.parisinfo.com’s description of the show.
