During defense minister Herve Morin’s meeting with the region’s voters, he compared France’s economic growth statistics with those of Holland. Holland has about the highest in Europe. Just today, the International Herald Tribune included an article on the Dutch book “Dutch Women don’t Get Depressed”. Should we be connecting the dots? Apparently Dutch women are able to divide their work hours between business and family (with a number of women working three days a week). This sounds very much like a concept that never caught on in the States called ‘flex time’.
They are no shrinking violets, take no guff, and dress the way they like. Sounds like the makings of a healthy economy.
