In the previous post ‘Transport Yourself’ I mentioned that Gotan Project would be inaugurating Le Cargo concert hall in Caen on February 1st, but if you can’t get to Caen, Gotan Project will be back in Paris for a performance on October 5 that will wind up their world tour.
They begin in Luxembourg on June 10 and they’ll be in Los Angeles in August. You can read more about their new CD Lunatico which was released April 10 in UK and April 11 in the US at www.worldmusiccentral.org. Or better yet you can check out the their music video at www.gotanproject.com. Be sure to read Rick White’s comment about the video and check out his photo using the same technique for his photo Red Pots.
This truly international group has Parisian Philippe Cohen Solal, Swiss-born Christophe H. Muller, and Argentinian (Buenos Aires) Eduardo Makaroff and more artists you can read about at worldmusiccentral.org

Rick: Thanks for sending along your great photo which I’ll post with your permission. No, I’m not connected with the Gotan Project video in any way. I stumbled onto the Gotan Project website while checking out the events calendar for the new concert hall (www.lecargo.fr) in Caen. I only found out later that one of the band members is a Parisian.
[...] The GoGoparis.com site explained something of which I was unaware when I mentioned Gotan Project to you an a past entry. Gotan is ‘verlaine’ or reverse for Tango. Which is what Gotan is all about. Even if you can’t get to their concert tonight, be sure and check out their video sequence at their website: http://www.gotan.com. Tags: Tips & Tidbits [...]

Here’s a comment from Rick E. White:

Chris… Thank you for thinking of me with this Tango
video. IT–IS–A–STUNNER!!! So far I have only watch
two of them and I am hooked. Great videos! What is
this project and are you connected with it in some
way?
An interesting side about the visual technique used:
Twenty-five years ago I photographed and produced a
large poster to use as a promotion for my photographic
studio.
The studio promotion was successful and I followed up
by marketing the poster through a poster publisher in
Brooklyn NY. The poster’s first run was 3500 copies,
then went into a second run, selling in the US,
England and some western European countries.
Thanks again for sending the video. I am enjoying it
very much!
