Festivals in Paris: Solidays

Solidays is an AIDS-benefit festival which begins in Paris Friday, July 6, 7 and 8th.
If you missed seeing Stuck in the Sound at Denfert Rochereau on Fete de la Musique night, now you’ve got a second chance.

Unlike Fete de la Musique, this three-day concert obviously isn’t free – but hopefully will do some good (I am always a little bit skeptical about big events – as to how much of the money really gets into the right pockets). Nevertheless here’s an opportunity to spend three days – camping out if you choose to do so – for a mere 8 Euros. (The 8 Euros pays for your camping, not for the ticket admissions which start at 29 Euros) For more info about the event which will take place at the Longchamp Hippodrome, you can check out Parisinfo.com for details in English or the Solidays website which gives more details in French.

Parisinfo lists a different Metro exit from the one posted on Solidays: Solidays lists: boulogne – Jean Jaures (line 10) or Porte Maillot on Line 1 or the RER C line.

Parisinfo mentions Metro: Port Auteuil. You can buy tickets for this event at FNAC www.fnac.com or www.ticketnet.fr.
The tickets start at 29 Euros per day, 30 Euros for two days or 44 Euros for three days.
There’s also a bus that will pick you up from various cities throughout France for the event. www.neweastfestival.com.
Yannick Noah will also be at this festival. If it doesn’t rain – it should be fantastic.
