Ernst Lubitsch at Le Balzac

You don’t have to go to Cannes to gorge yourself on films especially since the Paris Film Festival is in full swing. If you followed my suggestion to head to Montmartre tonight for the annual Retour de Flamme - and you still want to see more silent films accompanied by live musicians, you have yet another wonderful opportunity to enjoy the musical skills of Serge Bromberg and other musicians at Le Balzac.

They will be accompanying the films of silent film director Ernst Lubitsch who’s work has been described as some of the most inventive of the silent film era.

Wilfrid Arexis (trombone), Serge Bromberg (piano), Jacques Cambra (piano), Paul Grivas (ciné-mix), Roch Havet (piano et machines), Charlie O (cinémix et orgue Hammond), Kevin Arexis (sax alto et soprano), Aidje Tafial (batterie) et Jean-François Zygel (piano).

Sunday, July 8 to Thursday, July 12 at 8:30 pm

This year’s Paris film festival will have its grand finale on Bastille Day, July 14th on Champs de Mars with fireworks and great movie music.
