Saying Goodbye to Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent, considered by many, to be one of the great couturiers of the 20th century, died this past Sunday (June 1st 2008). President Nicolas Sarkozy, along with his wife Carla Bruni (who once modeled Yves Saint Laurent designs) will attend the funeral services at Eglise St. Roche.

Services begin at 3:30 pm for those who plan on being there.

Yves Saint Laurent was one of Catherine Deneuve’s favorite dress designers. The word ‘elegance’ and St. Laurent are inextricable.

As important as Saint Laurent may be to the world of French fashion and fashion history, he sadly will not be buried in any of the famous French cemeteries. His ashes will be transported to Marrakech.
