Opéra Bastille
New year’s eve at the Paris Opera

A cocktail will be served after the performance.

“To mark the passage of the EU Presidency from France to the Czech Republic, the Paris Opera proposes a special programme to celebrate the New Year at the Bastille Opera. This exceptional evening will open with the overture to The Bartered Bride by Bedrich Smetana, the great composer of Czech modernity. The Paris Opera Orchestra will then perform Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune and Ravel’s La Valse. The Paris Opera Ballet will continue the celebrations with performances of Nuages by Czech choreographer Jiri Kylian, and Maurice Béjart’s L’Oiseau de Feu and Boléro in tribute to the recently disappeared choreographer. An original and festive evening around great Czech and French artists to celebrate a truly European New Year.”
