Have you heard Caroline Ferry yet? Here’s Parisgirl’s challenge – if you listen to Les Odalisques and you understand every word – then you’ve really mastered French. For the rest of us who are still just stumbling through, the bits and pieces that you can catch are truly hilarious. Ferry takes a totally tactile view of her stroll through a museum.
On a less humorous note, ‘Maigre Comme Un Clou” represents a mother singing to her anorexic child ‘Skinny as a Nail” with such tenderness – you may be moved to tears “If this is what you call ‘belle’, better to be a ‘rebel’. Songwriter Nicole Guillin is responsible for some of these witty lines and rhymes – and interpreted by Caroline Ferry. You can visit both Myspace sites to learn more about these two talented women.
Spend some time on Caroline Ferry’s Myspace sight and you may begin to wonder is she isn’t the Edith Piaf of our time.
